Interview with Patrick Mann - Head of Digital Product
1. Can you briefly introduce yourself and your role?
I'm Head of Digital Product, based in Adelaide. My team builds the apps and AI tools that help injured workers and people with chronic conditions recover in the 95% of their time between their sessions with clinical team.
Day to day is a mix of three things: spending time with our customers (insurers, government schemes, employers) to understand what's working and what isn't, working with our engineers and designers to ship small experiments fast, and now increasingly partnering with the Navigator team to bring Perx into their clinical programs.
2. What part of your work are you most proud of?
The team. We're small relative to what we ship, and the reason we punch above our weight is the way we work. We experiment and iterate on everything, treat speed as a real competitive advantage, and continuously build and release improvements rather than wait for big releases.
We'd rather run three small experiments and learn cheaply than spend three months building the wrong thing. That mindset shapes every part of how we operate, from how we shape what capabilities to build next to how we respond to what customers tell us. Watching that rhythm produce real outcomes for our patients and customers, and seeing how quickly the team adapts when something isn't working, is the part I'm most proud of.
3. What are you most excited about as Perx and Navigator come together?
Honestly, the speed at which the two teams can move together. Last week we ran a hackathon at the offsite called PitchIt - six teams, four hours, one rule: build something real. It was the first time Navigator and Perx people had built something side by side, and the energy in the room told me everything I needed to know about what this looks like long term.
The combination of Perx's product muscle and Navigator's clinical depth and scale across NSP, PPP, ARC and MSK is genuinely rare. There's real momentum behind making the recovery experience better for the people we serve, and that's what I'm excited to do!
