ABOUT PPP
Expert psychological care.
The Primary Psychological Program (PPP) provides structured, evidence-based psychological treatment for people recovering from a psychological injury. It's designed to help with how you're feeling, support your recovery and help you get back to work or daily life when you're ready.
You'll be looked after by two people throughout the program: an assessing psychologist, who takes the time to understand your situation, and a treating therapist, who you'll see regularly for ongoing sessions. They work together, and stay with you, so you never have to start over or repeat your story.
Therapy uses approaches that are proven to help, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and therapy focused on supporting your return to work. Everything is tailored to you.
We teach you the tools to manage your own recovery
The program is designed to help you build the skills and confidence to manage your recovery, not just get through sessions.

Step 2
Your initial assessment
An assessing psychologist will take time to understand your situation, how you're feeling, and what kind of support will help most. This session is about listening, not judging.
Step 3
Regular therapy sessions
You'll meet regularly with the same treating therapist, using approaches proven to help with anxiety, low mood, stress, or trauma — at a pace that's right for you.
Step 4
A progress review part way through
Your team checks in on how things are going and adjusts your support if needed, so it keeps reflecting what you actually need.
Step 5
Discharge with a plan
When you're ready to finish the program, you'll have a final session and leave with a clear plan for staying well — so the support doesn't just stop.
